Bonne année!

New Year's day was nearly a month ago, and sadly, my resolution to stop procrastinating was quickly put on hold as we started off the new year with two weeks of vacation with our families (more on that later).  I found it hard to get back into the swing of things when we made it back to Montreal and now I have a very long to-do list making a mockery of my resolution.  So I made the decision that because today is the Chinese New Year, I am going to give my resolution another try.  And as my blog has been severely neglected over the past few months, I thought it would be best to start here.  So without any further ado... Happy (Chinese) New Year!

As an American, I have an intense love for all Chinese food : fried rice, orange chicken, egg rolls, fortune cookies... all the really authentic food that is delivered in a paper carton.  So I was super excited when our friend, Li, invited us over to make and consume a ridiculous amount of dumplings.  How could we ever say no?

I wish I would have taken more pictures to document the process, but our hands were usually busy chopping, wrapping, or stuffing our bellies full of dumplings.  It was a fantastic evening with great people and the best steamed, boiled, and fried dumplings I have ever tasted... a sure sign that this year of the dragon will be a good one!

I wish you all peace and happiness, bellies full of delicious dumplings, and of course, good luck with sticking to your (Chinese) New Year's resolutions.
